General Questions
Best time to go ?
From September to May, the waves at Puertecillo are truly exceptional, with April and May being famous for their big swells. During the winter months of June, July, and August, the surf can still be great, but strong storms may impact the sandbanks and the quality of the waves. Nonetheless, this magical spot offers incredible surfing year-round, with each season bringing its own unique charm.
What surf level do I need to have ?
Is a wave for all levels; whether you have never caught your first wave, or you are an experienced surfer we have plans for everyone.
Where can I eat/have lunch?
In the area, you can find a restaurant just a 3-minute walk from the house, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner with local dishes, especially fresh fish and Chilean cuisine. Additionally, the town is only a 5-minute drive away and offers other restaurant options. Keep in mind that the town is quite small, and there are days when all the restaurants may be closed.
Where can I buy groceries?
We recommend that you stock up in Santiago, as it is the best option. That's why, before your trip, we take you to a supermarket where you can fully stock up on everything you'll need. The grocery stores in the town are small and don't offer a wide variety of products. For basic purchases, you can find what you need, but for larger shopping, it's better to do it in Santiago or in Litueche (40 km away).
What is the water temperature and what wetsuit should I bring/rent?
The water is approximately 11 C and you surf with a 4/3 millimeter wetsuit as a minimum, both in summer and winter. Hat and booties could be very useful if you are not used to cold water. You can bring your own or we help you rent one here.

"I had the most incredible surf trip ever! The waves were perfect for all skill levels, and the guides made sure we had the best spots to surf each day. The accommodations were cozy and just steps away from the beach, which made early morning surf sessions super easy. The food was amazing—fresh, local, and prepared by a talented chef. I also loved the extra activities like yoga and kayaking; it really made the trip more enjoyable and relaxing. I can't wait to come back next year!"
